Whether you’re a nature lover, a music lover or a wind chime lover, the new Wind River Chimes Elements Collection is uniquely tuned to resonate within each of us.

This brand new collection offers never-before-heard chime tunings to represent each of the four natural elements of our world – earth, air, fire and water.

Built on the foundation of Wind River’s popular Corinthian Bells, the Elements Collection’s pristine clarity and premium quality creates a sound experience that powerfully captures these unique harmonies to resonate like musical instruments (for decades to come!)

Just as each natural element affects our world differently, the Wind River Chimes Elements Collection will touch and stir each person differently, whether it’s with a single Elements chime that calls to you, or through the harmonious symphony of the entire Elements Collection.

When these chimes were being developed, the first step was listening to nature, and nature shared her tune, inspiring the unique tunings we chose for each Element chime. Read on to find out more about the tunings of Earth, Air, Fire and Water

The Wind River Earth Chime

Deep and expansive, Wind River’s Earth chimes repeat two notes in an open chord, spanning two octaves. Since open chords don’t include the third scale degree, the lines of major and minor are flexible, creating this “open” quality that gives a loose framework for the harmony to explore a lot of territory – more freedom than constraint, yet totally secure.

Neither major nor minor, the earth is universal too, freely giving us space to explore while holding us with gravity and definition. So, this chime was created with a sound that’s rooted, yet open-ended. The pairing possibilities are (almost) infinite with these chimes!

The smaller 44” Earth chime plays an F open chord (F and C in two octaves), while the larger 65” Earth chime plays a G open chord (G and D in two octaves).

Minimalist and cyclical, the drone-like quality of Wind River’s Earth chimes invites you to join the pulse of our planet and enjoy a deeper meditation with your own soul.

The Wind River Air Chime

With thoughts of flying through clouds and open skies, this chime was created with a sound to open your mind and make your heart soar. Wind River’s Air chime harmonizes a suspended second chord in C – Csus2.

This chord captures air's open and floating quality with its unresolved, spacious nature, while also maintaining air’s pure, uncomplicated essence. Three simple notes, but arranged in a way to clarify your imagination with refreshed hope.

Both the smaller 27” Air chime and the larger 44” Air chime use the same pitches, just an octave apart.

Wind River’s Air chimes reinvigorate and uplift the senses like a breath of fresh air, directing your attention higher and inspiring a feeling of lightness and possibility.

The Wind River Fire Chime

Inspired by the famous composer Alexander Scriabin and his well-known piece Prometheus: The Poem of Fire, Wind River’s Fire chimes reconstruct the “mystic chord”, a six-note chord built from intervals of a fourth (augmented, diminished, and perfect), which is the harmony that characterizes Scriabin’s composition about the god of fire.

This augmented harmony reaches and pulls upwards, offering intrigue, but also has a dominant quality, initiating movement, so the overall sound is expectant but not simple. It’s mystical, ushering in a mood for dreaming and wonder.

Both the smaller 31” Fire chime and the larger 56” Fire chime use the same pitches, just an octave apart.

From the blaze of a bonfire to the flicker of a candle, fire always contributes to the way a space feels. Wind River’s Fire chimes seek to charm and enchant with a flare like no other, thrilling your space with feelings of warmth and light.

The Wind River Water Chime

To showcase the beauty of water’s rippling effect, Wind River’s Water chimes arpeggiate a minor seventh chord with the third scale degree as the highest pitch of the chimes to simulate water’s freedom and extensive movement.

To suggest mystery and depth, these chimes use a minor key and add the seventh to brighten and expand the harmony with satisfying tension that pushes and pulls the harmony to flow like the tides.

The smaller 36” Water chime plays a D minor 7th chord, while the larger 60” Water chime plays a G minor 7th chord.

Gently and powerfully, water moves us in many ways. And, it is this characteristic of steady movement that inspires Wind River’s Water chimes.

The Wind River Elements Collection Quartet

While each individual chime in the Wind River Elements Collection brings a unique sound and mood to your environment, these chimes were specifically designed and tuned to complement each other and play in concert together.

From the harmony of the chords to the resonance of the musical ranges, the Elements Quartet was orchestrated to showcase the synergy of nature.

If you were to line up the pitches of both quartets from lowest to highest, the large quartet could suggest the Phrygian mode and the small quartet could suggest the Dorian mode.

This quartet brings the sounds of earth, air, fire and water together to create a breathtaking symphony of natural elements.

Explore your nature, inspire your soul and harmonize your life with Wind River Chimes Elements Collection.
